3.5. Check of a condition of tires and pressure of their rating, rotation of wheels
Regular check of a condition of tires will allow to avoid the troubles connected with stops in way because of the lowered wheel. Besides, such checks give valuable information on possible problems with components of the steering drive and a suspension bracket until emergence of emergence in them serious damages.
At a sports manner of driving it is recommended to increase pressure in forward and back tires by 0.2 atm, an outcome from base-line values.
Tires can be equipped with the built-in indicators of wear of a protector in the form of the color strips which are bared at decrease in depth of a protector to 1.6 mm, - this value is minimum admissible, it is in most cases recommended to replace tires which depth of a protector makes less than 2 mm. Protector depth can always be determined by the simple and inexpensive adaptation known under the name of the measuring instrument of depth of a protector.
Pay attention to signs of uneven wear of protectors. Such defects as cavities, swellings, flattening and unilateral wear indicate violation of angles of installation of wheels, or disbalance of wheel assembly, - drive away the car on the station of adjustment of disorder convergence.
Carefully check tires for existence of cuts, punctures and the got stuck nails or buttons. Sometimes after a tire puncture a nail it still some time holds pressure, or begins to pit air very slowly. At suspicion first of all it is necessary to check tightness of the nipple of a rating of a wheel for existence of such "slow puncture", then to attentively examine a protector on presence at it of the got stuck foreign objects and also eliminated earlier and which again leaked damages. Carefully examine the internal side surfaces of tires on existence of signs of development of leak of brake fluid on them, - if those are available, immediately check a condition of brake mechanisms.
Remember that maintenance in tires of the correct pressure increases the term of their service, helps to save fuel and improves the general comfort of the movement. The special manometer is necessary for check of pressure.
Always check pressure on cold tires, otherwise the result of measurement will be overestimated owing to thermal expansion of air.
For check of pressure of a rating of the tire remove a protective cap from the nipple, then densely press a nozzle of the manometer to the rating gate and consider instrument readings. Compare results of measurement to requirements of Specifications of the Head the Current leaving and service. Do not forget to put into place the protective cap preventing hit in the nipple of dirt and moisture. Check pressure in all tires, including a spare wheel. In case of need make the corresponding adjustments.

Examples of characteristic wear of protectors of tires
Unilateral wear
Insufficient pressure in the tire leads to its overheat at the movement owing to an excessive deflection therefore the protector does not nestle sufficiently on the surface of the road. It leads to loss of coupling with the road and to excessive wear of a protector, not to mention danger of an exit of the tire out of operation as a result of an overheat. Check and adjust pressure.
Violation of adjustment of disorder of wheels can also result in unilateral wear of a protector, - replace defective components of the suspension bracket/helmsman of the drive, execute adjustment of disorder.
Too sharp commission of turns can be one more reason of such wear, - change a driving manner.
Central wear
Excessive pressure in the tire results in the accelerated wear of the central part of a protector, decrease in coupling with the road, more rigid movement and increase of danger of fatal damage of a slope, - check and adjust pressure. If tires were pumped up for transportation of heavy freights, do not forget at return to the normal mode of operation to pit excess air.
Uneven wear
Tires of forward wheels can unevenly wear out as a result of violation of angles of installation of wheels, - check, replace defective components of the suspension bracket/helmsman of the drive, make necessary adjustment.
Violation of balancing of wheels can be one more reason of this sort of wear, - drive away the car in a tire workshop.
