2.6.11. Towage of the trailer

At towage of the trailer the term of operation of the car and its profitability since load of the components involved in torque transmission increases decreases (beginning from the engine and finishing with tires). In this regard towage of the trailer at an initial stage of operation of the vehicle is not allowed at a run less than 800 km! Throughout the first 800 km of towage of the trailer the movement with a speed more than 80 km/h is not allowed! |
Observe the standard requirements imposed to the most admissible mass of the towed trailer (see Specifications of the Head Governing bodies and methods of operation).
Before towage make sure of technical serviceability both the trailer, and actually the car. Use only the certified coupling devices which installation should be charged to skilled experts. Similar requirements are imposed also to connection of the brake system and alarm lighting fixtures of the trailer.
During towage try to choose the speed and other parameters of the movement proceeding from the mass of the trailer.
Load the trailer so that in its forward part 60% of freight settled down, and in back - 40% of freight. Remember that the trailer increases the actual mass of the car, and do not allow excess of the most admissible mass of the car and the maximum load on an axis.
