11.2. Checks and adjustments of a pedal of a foot brake

Checks of a pedal of a foot brake

And — the Sensor switch of stoplights
In — the Lock-nut
With — a pusher Rod
D — the Lock-nut

Pedal height in the released situation

Check

Measure distance from the central part of a block of the released pedal to a partition of a motive compartment. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range (see Specifications of the Head the Brake system), make the corresponding adjustment.

Adjustment

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor switch of stoplights (And).
  2. Release a lock-nut (V) and, rotating the sensor switch (A), take away its plunger from the pedal lever.
  3. Release a lock-nut (D) and, rotating a rod of a pusher (D), adjust height of provision of the released pedal.
  4. Adjust the size of a free wheeling of a pedal (see below), then tighten a lock-nut (D) with the required effort (23.5 ÷ 34.3 Nanometers).
  5. Rotating the sensor switch of stoplights (A), achieve that its plunger easily nestled on the pedal lever. Tighten with the required effort (13.7 ÷ 17.7 Nanometers) a lock-nut (In).
  6. Make sure of serviceability of operation of stoplights already at easy squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake, - at a pedal otpuskaniye stoplights have to be disconnected unambiguously.

Size of a free wheeling of a pedal

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Several times squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake for the purpose of dumping of residual depression in the vacuum amplifier.
  2. Slightly pressing a pedal hand fingers, measure course size until emergence of resistance. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of the admissible range (4 - 7 mm), make the corresponding adjustment.

Adjustment

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Release a lock-nut (D) and make the corresponding adjustment by rotation of a rod of a pusher (And).
  2. Tighten a lock-nut with the required effort.

Pedal height in the squeezed-out situation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Squeeze out a pedal with effort of 69 kgfs and measure height of its situation over the floor panel. If the result of measurement makes less than 117 mm, pump over a hydraulic path of the brake system (see the Section Pumping of Brakes). If pumping of brakes does not lead to correction of a situation, check a condition of automatic regulators of drum brake mechanisms of back wheels (see the Section Service of Drum Brake Mechanisms of Back Wheels).
