6.2.4. Checks of a power supply system

Preliminary checks

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check a condition of the rechargeable battery (see Chapters the Current leaving and service and Systems of electric equipment of the engine).
  2. Check a condition of all safety locks (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
  3. Disunite and again join all sockets of the corresponding electronic systems. Check reliability of fixing of sockets and plaits of an electrical wiring in a motive compartment.
  4. Check reliability of fastening of all connections of weight.
  5. Visually estimate a condition of hoses and pipelines of a working path of a power supply system, paying special attention to identification of cracks and other mechanical damages.
  6. Replace defective components, tighten the weakened nipple sockets.

System checks

Check of tightness of a fuel path

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Dump pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Dropping Pressure in fuel system of the petrol engine, filling of a fuel path).
  3. Connect the special manometer to the service union which is built in to the line of supply of fuel directly behind the filter of thin cleaning.
  4. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
  5. By means of a suitable crossing point close among themselves plugs 1 (FUEL PUMP) and 5 (B) diagnostic DLC sockets (see the Section Dropping Pressure in fuel system of the petrol engine, filling of a fuel path).
  6. Having included ignition, activate no more than for 10 seconds the fuel pump (see the Section Dropping Pressure in fuel system of the petrol engine, filling of a fuel path).
  7. Switch off ignition and remove a crossing point.
  8. Having waited for about 5 minutes, consider the indication of the manometer. If the result of measurement makes less than 150 kPa, make the following checks:
    • Check of tightness of the locking valve of the fuel pump;
    • Check of tightness of the regulator of pressure;
    • Check of tightness of injectors.

Check of working pressure in a fuel path

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before switching off of ignition consider the indication of the manometer. If the result of measurement makes less than 292.5 kPa, make the following checks:
    • Check of the pressure developed by the fuel pump;
    • Check of passability of fuel lines;
    • Check of passability of the filter of thin cleaning;
    • Check of tightness of the regulator of pressure;
    • Check of tightness of injectors.

Checks of the fuel pump

Check of serviceability of functioning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. By means of a suitable crossing point close among themselves plugs 1 (FUEL PUMP) and 5 (B) diagnostic DLC sockets (see the Section Dropping Pressure in fuel system of the petrol engine, filling of a fuel path).
  2. Uncover a jellied mouth of the fuel tank.
  3. Ask the assistant to include ignition (for the period of no more than 10 seconds, - see the prevention in the Section Dropping Pressure in fuel system of the petrol engine, filling of a fuel path) and try to define the fact of operation of the fuel pump aurally.
  4. If the characteristic sound is absent, measure tension between the plug of a greenish-yellow wire of the socket of the fuel pump and mass of the chassis.
  5. If the result of measurement does not correspond to the required value (about 12 V), replace pump assembly (see the Section Removal and installation of the fuel pump), otherwise eliminate break in the corresponding electrical wiring.
  6. Do not forget to screw into place a cover of a jellied mouth of the fuel tank and to take a crossing point from the DLC socket.

Check of tightness of the locking valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The order of implementation of the procedure is similar described above for check of tightness of a fuel path with only that difference that the hose directly behind the union of connection of the manometer needs to be pressed at installation of the last.
  2. The size of pressure kept in the cut part of the fuel highway within 5 minutes has to make 340 kPa. At negative result of measurement replace assembly of the fuel pump. Do not forget to take a crossing point from the DLC socket.

Check of the developed pressure

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The order of implementation of the procedure is similar described above for check of tightness of the locking valve of pump assembly with only that difference that reading of indications of the manometer is made at the included ignition.
  2. Replace the faulty pump (see the Section Removal and installation of the fuel pump).

Checks of the relay of the fuel pump  

Check of serviceability of functioning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. At inclusion of ignition of the relay has to publish distinctly heard click.

Conductivity check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Take the relay (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
  1. Give tension to 12 V on plugs No. No. 2 and 4 of the relay, - between plugs No. No. 5 and 1/3 conductivity has to take place. At removal of food conductivity has to be absent.
  1. Replace the faulty relay.

Checks of the regulator of pressure

Check of serviceability of functioning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine on single turns and consider the indication of the measuring instrument, - the required value makes 235 kPa.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose going from the regulator of pressure and repeat measurement, - the required value makes 292.5 kPa.
  3. Replace the faulty regulator (see the Section Removal and installation of the regulator of pressure of fuel). Do not forget to take a crossing point from the DLC socket.

Check on tightness

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Press nippers a returnable hose of the regulator, wait about 5 minutes and consider the indication of the measuring instrument. If the result of measurement makes less than 147 kPa, replace the regulator (see the Section Removal and installation of the regulator of pressure of fuel). Do not forget to take a crossing point from the DLC socket.

Check of injectors

Violation of tightness of valves of fuel injectors is accompanied by difficulties at start of the hot engine. Damage of injectors can be the cause the diesel effect when the engine continues to work at the switched-off ignition.

Check of serviceability of functioning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure of reliability of fixing of injectors in the fuel highway excluding probability of their shift during check performance.
  2. Start the engine on single turns and warm up up to the normal working temperature.
  3. Without suppressing the engine, by means of a stethoscope make sure of serviceability of functioning of each separate injector, - existence of clicks indicates serviceability of opening and closing of valves.

In the absence of near at hand stethoscope check can be made to the touch by means of the screw-driver or a finger.

  1. If any of injectors does not make any sounds, it is necessary to make sure of serviceability of giving on it of food and to measure electric resistance.

Check of serviceability of giving of food

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Visually estimate a condition of the electrical wiring brought to injectors, then make sure available supply voltages on plugs No. No. 16, 17, 34 and 35 of the contact ECM socket.
  2. Replace faulty injectors (see the Section Removal and installation of fuel injectors).

Check on tightness

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove injectors assembled with the fuel highway (see the Section Removal and installation of the toplivoraspredelitelny highway).
  1. Record injectors on the highway wire bandages.
  1. By means of a suitable crossing point close among themselves plugs 1 (FUEL PUMP) and 5 (B) diagnostic DLC sockets (see the Section Dropping Pressure in fuel system of the petrol engine, filling of a fuel path).
  2. Include ignition, incline injectors at an angle about 60 ° and make sure of lack of signs of development of leaks through their nozzles.
  3. Replace faulty injectors (see the Section Removal and installation of fuel injectors), - do not forget to replace sealing rings and to oil them before installation by pure motive.
  4. Switch off ignition and take a crossing point from the DLC socket.

Check of volume of injection

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Get a piece of a hose of suitable diameter which second end lower in measured capacity on an injector nozzle, connect a special tester (SST) and the injector which is subject to check to the rechargeable battery. The serviceable injector has to provide an expense of 130 cm3/min.
  1. Replace faulty injectors (see the Section Removal and installation of fuel injectors), - do not forget to replace sealing rings and to oil them before installation by pure motive.

Check of electric resistance

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the injector which is subject to checking.
  1. By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between contact plugs of an injector. The required result makes 12 ÷ 16 Ohm at a temperature of 20 °C.
  1. In case of need replace an injector.

Valve checks of stabilization of turns of idling (IAC)

Check of serviceability of functioning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature.
  1. Disunite the IAC valve electrical wiring socket, - the distinct click which is followed by increase of turns of the engine approximately till 1000 a minute has to sound. If turns of the engine do not change, it is necessary to check valve winding resistance.

Check of resistance

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure that ignition is switched off and disunite the valve socket.
  1. By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between contact plugs of the socket, - at a temperature of 20 °C resistance between plugs No. No. 1 and 2 has to make 18.5 ÷ 20.1 Ohm, between plugs the No. No. 1 and 3 - 35.3 ÷ 36.9 Ohm and between the Ohm plugs 2 and 3 - 16.0 ÷ 17.6.
  1. Replace the faulty valve (see the Section Removal and installation of components of an inlet air path).

Check of the sensor of provision of butterfly valves (TPS)

Check of serviceability of functioning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from TPS and connect an ohmmeter between plugs No. No. 2 and 3 of the socket of the sensor.
  1. Make sure of linearity of the schedule of dependence of resistance of the sensor on the provision of butterfly valves. At completely closed throttle resistance of TPS has to make about 1 kOhm, at completely open - about 2.4 kOhm.
  2. The faulty sensor is subject to replacement, - do not forget to check replaceable TPS according to the same scheme.

Check of tension

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure that butterfly valves are in completely closed position.
  2. Include ignition.
  3. Connect the voltmeter between plugs No. 1 and No. 2 of the socket of the sensor.
  4. Make sure of linearity of the schedule of dependence of indications of the voltmeter on the provision of butterfly valves. At completely closed throttle the result of measurement has to make 0.5 B, at completely open - 4.1 Century.

Check of the sensor of measurement of mass of air (MAF)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature and leave it to work at single turns.
  1. Connect the voltmeter between the weight and the plug No. 4 (a red-green wire) of the socket of the sensor and consider its indication, - the required value makes 0.8 ÷ 1.2 Century.
  1. Lift engine turns, - the indication of the voltmeter has to change, having risen to value 3.5 ÷ 4 B.
  2. The faulty sensor is subject to replacement.

Check of the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid (ECT)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The ECT sensor is located near the thermostat, - disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor.
  1. Remove the ECT sensor and lower it in a vessel with water.
  1. By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between contact plugs of the socket of the sensor. The required value makes 2.45 ± 0.24 kOhm at a temperature of 20 °C and 0.322 ± 0.032 kOhm at a temperature of 80 °C.
  1. The faulty sensor is subject to replacement.
  2. Installation is made upside-down, - do not forget to replace a sealing washer, track that the sensor was tightened with the required effort (25 ÷ 29 Nanometers).
  3. In conclusion start the engine and check it for existence of signs of development of leak of cooling liquid.

Check of the sensor of temperature of the soaked-up air (IAT)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Switch off ignition.
  2. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the IAT sensor and by means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between plugs No. 1 and No. 2 of the socket of the sensor, - the required value makes 2.21 ÷ 2.69 kOhm at a temperature of 20 °C.
  3. Replace the faulty sensor, - do not forget to establish a sealing washer, track reliability of a zashchelkivaniye of a clamp.

Check of the main relay

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Uncover the motive compartment of the main assembly block of safety locks located in the right part (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
  1. Having pressed a finger to the main relay, make sure that it regularly clicks at inclusion of ignition, - use the help of the assistant. The relay has to click as well at switching off of ignition.
  1. Take the relay from the landing nest and give battery tension between plugs No. 86 () and 85 (-) of the relay. Make sure available conductivity between plugs No. No. 03 and 87, - at power off conductivity has to be absent.
  2. The faulty relay is subject to replacement. Track reliability of a zashchelkivaniye of a cover of the assembly block.
