6.1. Security measures and the general rules accepted at service of components of fuel paths of internal combustion engines
At service of components of a fuel path it is necessary to follow the following general rules:
- Do not approach the place of performance of work with naked flame, do not smoke and do not turn on any heating devices! Always you keep in readiness the fire extinguisher;
- Fuel evaporations are toxic, - make service of a power supply system in well ventilated room;
- Remember that the fuel path of system of injection constantly is under pressure, - at an otpuskaniye of nipple sockets fuel can escape from the line under pressure! Do not forget to put on goggles, immediately collect the spilled fuel by rags;
- Keep in mind that fuel pressure at an exit in the diesel engine makes about 1100 atm of nozzles, - do not allow hit of any parts of a body under a fuel stream;
- Collars of tape and tightening type can be applied to fastening of hose connections of a fuel path. After a detachment of hoses tightening collars should be replaced tape or worm. Fixing of locks of some collars demands use of special devices, - consult with experts branded HUNDRED KIA.
- Before removing any components of a fuel path carefully wipe their surfaces in places of interface to the purpose of prevention of internal pollution of system;
- Stack the removed components on a pure lining and cover with polyethylene, paper, or NEVORSYaShchEYSYa rags;
- Do not forget to cork the open ends of the disunited nipple sockets of a fuel path, whenever possible using special caps for this purpose;
- Pay special attention to respect for purity, - carefully wipe and degrease all installed components, take replaceable details from packing only just before installation;
- Avoid use of compressed air at the opened fuel system, whenever possible try not to move the car;
- Do not apply the sealants containing silicone to sealing of joints of components, - hit in the engine of particles of poorly combustible silicone is accompanied by risk of failure a lambda probes;
- Before removal of the fuel tank merge from it all fuel, - in case of need use the special pump for fuel pumping out;
- Before a detachment of assembly tapes of fastening of the fuel tank at removal of the last prop up it from below a cart jack through wooden laying;
- Remember that the emptied fuel tank is potentially explosive and before utilization has to be without fail cut on a part, - take measures against sparking when using of the cutting tool;
- After installation of the fuel tank on the car start the engine and check tightness of the corresponding connections.
