5.2.7. Removal and installation of the thermostat
Petrol models
Details of installation of assembly of the thermostat on petrol engines

- Let's the engine cool down, then uncover a radiator.
- Open the drain gate (see an illustration) and lower cooling liquid from a radiator in the capacity suitable on volume, - if liquid looks suitable for the repeated use, pour it in hermetically closed container.
- Release two fixing nuts and uncover the thermostat. Remove sealing laying, - laying is subject to replacement without fail.
- Remove the thermostat - try to remember its adjusting situation.
- Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces of a cover of the thermostat and its casing, replace sealing laying.
- Having tracked correctness of placement, - the thermostat has to be deployed by the pumping valve up, - enclose dry the wiped thermostat in a casing.
- Screw fixing nuts and tighten them with the required effort (22 Nanometers).
- In conclusion fill the cooling system, start the engine and check it for existence of signs of development of leak of cooling liquid.

Diesel models
Details of installation of assembly of the thermostat on diesel engines

- Installation is made upside-down, - pay attention to the next moments:
- Track that the interfaced surfaces were smoothed carefully out, do not forget to prepare and replace sealing laying;
- Track correctness of placement of the thermostat in a casing;
- Track that bolts of fastening of a cover were tightened with the required effort;
- Begin gas station of the cooling system (see the Head the Current leaving and service) only having made sure of correctness of connection of all hoses;
- Upon completion of installation start the engine, warm up it up to the normal working temperature and make sure of lack of signs of development of leaks.
