The switches and governing bodies located on a steering column and a steering wheel
Left understeering switch
The left understeering switch is intended for switching of the modes of functioning of external lighting fixtures, activation of illumination of devices, the alarm system by driving beam and managements of functioning of indexes of turns.

The choice of the modes of functioning of external lighting fixtures and activation of illumination of devices is carried out by means of the rotary handle on the end of the lever of the switch. The handle has three fixed situation:
OFF — External lighting fixtures and illumination of the dashboard are switched off.
For activation of driving beam it is necessary to wring out the switch lever from itself before click, - on a combination of devices the corresponding light indicator has to light up (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators).
The alarm system is made by driving beam of headlights by procrastination of the lever on itself and can be made in any position of the trailer rotary handle, - at an otpuskaniye the lever automatically comes back to a starting position.
Activation of the corresponding indexes of turns is made by push-up of the lever before click up or down in the plane of a steering wheel, - serviceability of activation is confirmed by operation in the flashing mode corresponding from two devices of green light indicators which are built in a combination (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators). Shutdown of indexes (with a lever vyshchelkivaniye in neutral situation) is made automatically at return of a steering wheel to rectilinear situation, and can be in case of need duplicated by compulsory push-up of the switch. There is also a possibility of short-term activation of indexes by a lung (without overcoming a point of resistance) push-ups of the switch in the corresponding direction that is very convenient, for example, at evolution in the next row on a multiband marking, - at a lever otpuskaniye it automatically comes back to starting (neutral) position.

In order to avoid damage of the driving mechanism it is not necessary to include screen wipers, at the dry surface of glass, it is not necessary to move brushes with hands also. Do not allow hit on rubber working elements of screen wipers of gasoline and other solvents. For the purpose of prevention of risk of failure of the pump of the washing liquid try not to activate it at the empty tank. |

The right understeering switch is intended for management of functioning of cleaners and washers of a windshield. |
Start of screen wipers is possible only at the included ignition. Movement of the lever of the switch up and down in the plane of a steering wheel allows to choose the modes of functioning of screen wipers:
This (top) position of the switch screen wipers are switched off by OFF — In.
INT — the position of the switch Second from above corresponds to the interval mode of functioning of screen wipers.
1 — In the position of the switch third from above screen wipers pass into the constant mode of functioning with normal rate of waves.
2 — the Lower position of the switch serves for start of screen wipers in the high-speed mode.
Adjustment of duration of pauses during the work of screen wipers in the interval mode is made by means of the ring switch put on a middle part of the handle of the lever switch: situation S corresponds to the maximum duration of pauses, F - minimum.
Single operation of screen wipers can be made by push-up of the lever switch from itself.

This function is activated only in position of the OFF switch. At deduction of the lever in the wrung-out situation screen wipers will work in the continuous mode. |
For giving on glass of the washing liquid it is necessary to delay the switch lever on itself. At the same time, if the switch is in position of OFF, along with supply of liquid screen wipers which functioning will stop later 2 - 3 more waves after a lever otpuskaniye will be activated.

Governing bodies of functioning of a tempostat
|
|
Use of a tempostat at the intense movement (for example, in the city), on slippery and twisting roads, and also in other road situations interfaced to need of frequent change of the high-speed mode can lead to loss of control over driving! |
|
|
In order to avoid casual start of a tempostat do not forget to make its deactivation from the main switch! |
Tempostat is intended for maintenance of constant cruiser speed of the movement of the car (after dispersal of the last to speed not lower than 40 km/h) without the need for keeping of a leg on the accelerator pedal.
Governing bodies of functioning of a tempostat are located on the right on a steering wheel, and also under a combination of devices, to the right of a steering column.

For activation of a tempostat press the button of the main switch of system located on the dashboard to the right of a steering wheel. Accelerate the car to the required speed (not less than 40 km/h) and press the SET/CST button which is located in a middle part of the panel of the operating switches of a tempostat on the right on a steering wheel. Release the button and at the same time take away a leg from the accelerator pedal, - the chosen cruiser speed of the movement will be automatically supported, - in the left section of a combination of devices the corresponding control lamp has to be activated (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators).

The choice and installation of cruiser speed of the movement cannot be made earlier, than 2 seconds later from the moment of pressing the main switch of a tempostat. At the movement of the car uphill and under a bias the actual speed of the movement can deviate the chosen cruiser value a little. |
Deactivation of function of maintenance of the chosen cruiser speed can be made by one of the next ways:
- Press a brake pedal;
- Squeeze out a coupling pedal (models with RKPP) / transfer the AT selector lever to situation "N" (on models from AT);
- Press the CANCEL button, in the lower part of the panel of the operating switches on the right on a steering wheel.
For return to the chosen earlier cruiser high-speed mode press the top button panels of managing directors of switches (RES/ACC) on a steering wheel.

The call from memory of system of the value of cruiser speed brought in it can be carried out only provided that at deactivation of function of maintenance of the high-speed mode the speed of the movement of the car did not fall/rose by more than 15 km/h above/below the kept value, otherwise the procedure of the choice and installation should be repeated. Dumping of the kept value happens also at delay of the car up to one speed lower limit for activation of a tempostat (40 km/h). |
Change of value of the chosen cruiser speed of the movement can be made by keeping in the pressed position of the RES/ACC button (acceleration) or SET/COAST (delay).

|
Short pressing the same buttons allow to correct the chosen cruiser high-speed mode with a step to 1.6 km/h. The chosen new cruiser speed is brought in memory of system, replacing the previous value. |
Temporary acceleration or delay of the car at the activated tempostat can be made by means of accelerator pedals and a brake respectively, - the last current value of cruiser speed remains kept in memory of system and will be caused at return to the active mode, see above the remark concerning restrictions on preservation in memory of a tempostat of the chosen value of cruiser speed of the movement.
Full deactivation of a tempostat (with memory cleaning) is made by means of the main switch, - the control lamp on a combination of devices has to go out, - or by switching off of ignition.
Horn switch
The button of inclusion of a horn is built in a stupichny part of a steering wheel, - for activation of a sound signal press on one or the other images of a horn on the parties from the KIA logo on a steering wheel.
Adjustment of an inclination of a steering column
The steering column has to be adjusted so that the nave of a steering wheel was opposite to a thorax of the driver. Situation at which the nave of a steering wheel is opposite to a face of the driver is wrong as reduces protective functions of the safety cushion which is built in in it.

Switch ignition/lock of blocking of a steering wheel
The switch the blocking ignition/lock the helmsman of a column is located on the right on a steering column and can be in one of the following four fixed provisions:
LOCK — the Ignition key can be entered into the lock or is taken from it only in this situation. When turning the ignition key from position of LOCK in position of ACC there is a removal of blocking of a steering column. To turn a key from position of ACC in position of LOCK it is necessary to press slightly previously it, having a little drowned in the lock, on models from AT it is necessary to transfer the selector lever to situation "P" also previously.

On models with RKPP do not forget before an exit from the car to include the first transfer and to cock the parking brake! |
Blocking the helmsman of a column is carried out automatically in attempt to turn a steering wheel after extraction of a key from the ignition lock.
|
|
Blocking the helmsman of a column sometimes brings impossibility to turn a key in the ignition lock. In such situation it is necessary to pull slightly a steering wheel for the purpose of removal of loading, at the same time turning a key in the lock. |
|
|
Blocking of a steering wheel should not be considered as an alternative of raising of the parking brake at all! Do not take a key from the ignition lock during the movement at all, - it will inevitably lead to blocking of a steering column and loss of control over management! |
ACC — In this position of the ignition key is provided a possibility of functioning of auxiliary consumers of the electric power (the audio system, the lighter, the heater fan, screen wipers, etc.).
ON — In this situation the ignition key is constantly during the movement of the car, and also during the operation of the engine on single turns. Electric food of all systems and the additional equipment installed on the car is at the same time provided. At turn of a key from position of ACC position of ON quickly turns on some of the devices of control lamps which are built in in a combination (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators). On models of the corresponding complete set turning of a key in position of ON leads to automatic activation of running fires of daylight (DRL).

Do not leave the ignition key in position of ON at the switched-off engine since at the same time there is a bystry discharge of the battery. |
START — In this position of the lock occurs activation of a starter. After implementation of start of the engine the key should be released, - it has to return to position of ON automatically. If the car is equipped with system of an immobilization, then start of the engine will be blocked if the anticreeping system does not identify a key code.

For elimination of excessive resistance to turning of a key in situation START if such situation arises, pull a steering wheel to the right-to the left. |
The governing bodies located in the left part of the dashboard
Two groups of switches located on the right and to the left of a steering column are located on models of a basic equipment in the left part of the dashboard.
The main switch of a tempostat, the switch of management of functioning of a back screen wiper / supply of liquid of washing of back glass, and also (on models of the corresponding complete set) the switch of activation/deactivation of the sports mode (POWER) of AT are a part of right-wing group.
To the left of a column the shtyrkovo-rotor switch of adjustment of provision of door rear-view mirrors, and also the regulator of intensity of illumination of devices are located.
Purpose of the main switch of a tempostat is explained above.
Instructions for use by the regulator of intensity of illumination of devices are provided in the beginning of the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators (see the illustration Combination of Devices (petrol models)).

Activation of the sports mode (POWER) of AT on models of the corresponding complete set is represented possible only in provisions "D", "2" or "L" of the lever of the selector, and in the last two cases no changes are made to the scheme of gear shifting. When pressing the corresponding button of right-wing group of switches in the left sector of a combination of devices the control lamp of POWER is activated (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators). At activation of the sports mode (the control lamp burns, the lever of the AT selector is in situation "D") switching of transmission towards increase in transfers is made with a delay, i.e. at higher turns of the engine. Activation of the kickdown mode in the sports mode (during the overtaking or the movement uphill) demands smaller effort of pressing the accelerator pedal, than in the mode of normal functioning (ECO) AT. |

Activation of the HOLD mode (see the Part Methods of operation and auxiliary systems) leads to automatic shutdown of the POWER mode, - the corresponding control lamp has to go out with simultaneous inclusion of a lamp of HOLD (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators). |
|
|
At deduction of the regulator in the pressed situation the mirror ceases to move on reaching it extreme situation, however the driving electric motor continues to rotate at the same time, - in order to avoid damage of an electric motor as a result of overloads it is not necessary to hold the regulator pressed longer, than it is necessary for completion of the required adjustment. |
Governing bodies and the equipment of salon on the central console
On the central console of the car there is the greatest number of governing bodies and the equipment of salon.
It is possible to carry the switches and regulators located on forward section of the console and also the lever of raising of the parking brake, the gear shifting lever to governing bodies (to model with RKPP) / the lever of the selector of the AT modes (model with AT), and also the lever of switching of the modes of the transfer case. The description only of the switches and regulators located on a forward part of the console is given below. Appointment and the description of levers is given in the Part Methods of operation and auxiliary systems.
Ware box, chashkoderzhatel, hours, ashtrays and the lighter are among elements of the equipment of salon.
The ware boxes which are built in a curbstone of the central console

On some models the central console is equipped with a ware box without cover. The description given below does not belong to such models. |
In assembly of a console curbstone of the central console two ware boxes are equipped. One box is located in a curbstone under a folding cover, the second - sliding - is built in directly to a cover.
|
|
For access to the first ware box, pull the lamellar lever under a cover from its forward party and cast away the last up. |
|
|
The second, smaller volume, the box moves forward by shift of back section of the top half of a cover of the first box back. |
|
|
It is necessary to notice that the volume cover of a console ware box can play also an armrest role, - having pressed the button located sideways, release a clamp and shift a cover forward. |
Chashkoderzhateli

It is not necessary to use chashkoderzhatel during the movement! |
Lighter
|
|
The lighter is built in in the lower part of forward section of the central console to the right of a forward ashtray and functions only at the included ignition (a key in position of ON or ASS). |
For activation of the lighter just drown its button in a reception nest against the stop, - after a warming up of a heating element the button will automatically jump out in a starting position.
|
|
Do not hold the lighter button in the pressed situation by force at all! If the lighter button after pressing does not return to a starting position more than 30 seconds later, it is necessary to release it from a nest manually, having hooked the suitable tool. After use do not forget to return the button in a nest in order to avoid a contamination of the last. The reception nest of the lighter can be used for connection of the external consumers of the electric power (the pump, the charger for a radio telephone, the vacuum cleaner) calculated on food in 12 V and with a power of consumption no more than 120 W. |
Ashtrays

The forward ashtray is located to the left of the lighter, back is built in in a back wall of a curbstone of the central console directly under a back chashkoderzhatel. |

Switch of the alarm system
Activation of the alarm system can be made in any position of the lock of ignition and leads to simultaneous operation of all four indexes of turns (and their light indicators in a combination of devices). The alarm system is intended for the warning of participants of traffic of the compelled car stop, and also has to be used in the other situations provided by traffic regulations.
For shutdown of the alarm system press the button repeatedly, - the built-in light indicator долежн to go out.
Switch of heating of back glass
Inclusion of an electrical heating allows to remove from the surface of back glass of condensate, hoarfrost, and even thin frost. The button of inclusion of an electrical heating is located on console section of the dashboard, to the right of the button of turning on of the alarm system. At activation of heating the light indicator which is built in a combination of devices lights up (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators).
Shutdown of heating is made by repeated pressing the button, or automatically, about 15 minutes later after activation on a signal of the special timer, - the light indicator has to go out.

Functioning of a heating element becomes possible only in position of the ON switch of ignition, - at transfer of a key to the provision of ACC or LOCK heating is turned off. |
Do not forget to check before a start of motion quality of the review through back glass of the car.
The threadlike grid of a heating element of a heater is pasted on the internal surface of back glass and demands care in the address, - try not to damage a grid when wiping glass. Wiping should be made only along heater threads.
Air conditioner switch
The K/V switch also is a part of group of console switches, is located to the right of the switch of heating of back glass, is designated by the pictogram with the image of a snowflake and equipped with the built-in light indicator. The description of the principles of functioning of the K/V system is provided in the Part of the Device of ensuring comfort.
Air circulation mode switch
The switch of the mode of air circulation is the last of switches of console group, is located in its right part, to the left of hours and is designated by the pictogram. The description of the principles of functioning of system of ventilation of salon is provided in the Part of the Device of ensuring comfort.
Hours

Hours are not determined if the car is equipped with the audio system, in this case hours are built in the audio system. |
The digital chronometer is located in the right top corner of console section of the dashboard. In provisions of the ON and ACC lock of ignition of the button, the indication of a chronometer can be modified by means of the buttons which are built in the right part of the display:
"H" — the Button of updating of indications of hours (scrolling forward).
"M" — the Button of updating of indications of minutes (scrolling forward).
":00" — the Button of zeroing of indications of minutes (with rounding in the relevant party depending on the current indication of minutes: N: [00 ÷ 29] ® N:00; N: [30 ÷ 59] ® [N 1]:00)
The elements of the equipment of salon located on the ceiling panel / windshield
Sun-protection peaks
Sun-protection peaks provide protection of eyes of the driver / the forward passenger from dazzle by direct sunshine. Peaks are fixed on arms of the rotary design allowing to develop in case of need them parallel to side glasses of the car (previously release an arm from a clamp).
Internal rear-view mirror
Before a trip it is necessary to adjust an internal rear-view mirror, turning it so that in its center the center of a window of a door of a back was visible. At the same time the mirror has to be in the day mode.
Main saloon lamp

The saloon lamp is built in in the central part of a ceiling upholstery and equipped with three push-button switches allowing to choose the mode of its functioning. |
OFF — the Lamp is switched constantly off.
DOOR — the Lamp is activated when opening doors.
ON — the Lamp is switched constantly on.
Back saloon lamp
The back lamp is installed on the Station wagon models and serves for lighting of the luggage compartment. The on-off switch of the choice of the mode of its functioning is built in the case of the lamp:
OFF — the Lamp is switched constantly off.
ON — the Lamp is activated when opening a door of a back.
Switches of management of functioning of the electric drive of window regulators

For the purpose of prevention of failure of the electric drive / its protective safety lock it is not necessary to carry out the drive more than two glasses at the same time! |
The electric drive of window regulators is included in a basic equipment of all models considered in the present manual.
Functioning of window regulators becomes possible only at the included ignition.
On an armrest of each of doors of the car the individual switch intended for management of functioning of the electric drive of a window regulator of this door is located. The drive (lowering/lifting) of glass is carried out by pressing/procrastination of the keyboard switch.
Ware boxes, pockets, coin box

The main ware box is equipped in the right part of the dashboard, - for opening pull on yourself the box lock handle. |
Besides the main ware box and boxes equipped in a curbstone of the central console, the interior of the car is equipped with door pockets and a niche in the dashboard intended for storage of small objects, a tray in a forward part of horizontal section of the central console (directly under a forward ashtray) and the three-section coin box located under the left side deflector of the dashboard to the left of the regulator of intensity of illumination of devices (see the illustration Combination of Devices (petrol models)).
