- Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
- Remove levers of switching of the AT RKPP/selector (see the Head the Five-step manual box of gear shifting or Automatic transmission respectively) and the transfer case (see the Section Removal and installation of the lever of switching of the modes of the transfer case).
- Merge from the transfer case oil (see the Head the Current leaving and service).
- Remove driveshafts (see the Section Removal, service and installation of driveshafts).

- Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor switch of the alarm indicator 4WD.
- Disconnect an electrical wiring from VSS.
- In order to avoid damage of support of a suspension bracket of the power unit prop up transmission a cart jack.
- Turn out fixing bolts (two in a support and two in the chassis) and remove a side support of a suspension bracket of the transfer case.
- Turn out eight fixing bolts of the chassis, plus four bolts of fastening of the lower support and remove a cross beam.
- Prop up the transfer case a cart jack.
- Turn out 10 fixing bolts and, slightly tapping the interfaced surface a kiyanka, separate the transfer case from transmission.
- Lower the transfer case, take it from under the car and transfer to a workbench.
- Installation is made upside-down, - track observance of requirements of Specifications of the Head the Transmission line to efforts of tightening of carving fixture. Pay special attention to correctness of connection of driveshafts (track correctness of combination of the landing tags put in the course of dismantle).
- In conclusion fill in necessary amount of fresh oil of the required grade in a box, correctly having modified its level (see the Head the Current leaving and service).
