On all models considered in the present manual, both rear-wheel (4х2), and all-wheel drive (4х4), at the corresponding complete set the 5-staged manual box of gear shifting (MBGS) of a design of Getrag providing a possibility of inclusion of five lobbies and one back transfers is established completely synchronized (including the reverse gear).

In a box four gear shaft are used: primary (entrance), secondary (main), counterdriving and intermediate reverse gear. The forward end of a secondary shaft is entered into the needle bearing filled in a back pin of a main shaft. At the choice of the 4th transfer the nave of the sliding coupling of the synchronizer provides direct mechanical gearing of primary and secondary shaft with the transfer relation 1:1. Thus, only five gelikoidalny gear wheels of a main shaft enter continuous reduktorny gearing with a counterpower shaft: the first, second, thirds, fifth and back transfers.

Five gear wheels of a counterpower shaft are an integral part of the last and rotate together with it, perceiving torque from a main shaft. The gear wheels of a secondary shaft entered into continuous gearing with a counterpower shaft are put on needle bearings that provides independence of their rotation until the choice of the corresponding transfer. The intermediate gear wheel of the reverse gear is also put on the bearing and has the fixed situation on the to a shaft.

The lever of gear shifting installed on assembly of the central console in interior of the car is connected to the operating rod. The rod is passed throughout the top part of a face surface of back section of a case of RKPP and can be entered into gearing with one of three located in a case of the switching rods equipped with forks. Forks of switching of each of internal rods, in turn, are entered into gearing with the sliding couplings of the corresponding synchronizers. The choice of transfer is carried out by means of shift by the fork demanded the coupling in the direction of a gear wheel of the corresponding transfer of a secondary shaft, at the same time the internal gear surface of the coupling carries out a role of the connecting link jointing a gear wheel with the gear nave of the synchronizer put on shaft vents.

All components of the transmission are placed in a two-section aluminum case of a vertical joint into which forward section the lever of switching off of coupling and the sensor of provision of a bent shaft (CKP) are entered, in back section the sensor switch of fires of a backing is located on all models. To a face part of back section of a case of RKPP of rear-wheel models приболчен the lengthening case, on models 4 ´4 - a case of the transfer case on which the sensor of speed of the movement of the car (VSS) fastens.

In view of complexity of a design of RKPP, absence on free sale of necessary replaceable internal components and need of use of the special equipment, authors of the present manual do not recommend to owners of cars to carry out capital repairs of the transmission independently. Repair of RKPP in the conditions of a workshop of car service is rather expensive operation, in a type of what, it makes sense to consider alternative options of replacement of the failed block new or restored.
